You can explore the C&C archive in two ways:

1. Search our archive of encounters with classical culture.

2. Watch and listen to discussions with experts and enthusiasts about select encounters.

Some C&C archive searching tips:

1. Try using the Categories drop-down menu on the right of the Archive page. You can narrow your search down in a number of ways, e.g. filter by country, type of classical object, or encounter theme.

2. Narrow your search by clicking on a date range.

3. It has not always been possible to identify an exact date for certain encounters, for example when a range of dates might be more appropriate. For this reason when you see an encounter set at a year divisible by ten, e.g. 1780, it is worth checking to see at the bottom of the encounter details if this date is representative of that decade rather than specific.
